Welcome to a free collection of
short Cinderella stories.
Cinderella is a story that may go back as far as the middle of the ninth century A.D (850-60 Common Era). The first reported telling of the fairy tale comes from China. It was written down by Tuan Ch'eng-shih and involves a young girl named Yeh-shen. A little closer to home, students of an elementary school Literature class in East St. Paul, Manitoba, undertook to write a collection of stories centering on the theme of Cinderella. Broken down to its simplest form, Cinderella is a story of a young girl overcoming personal hardship to meet the man of her dreams. The students were very creative with the work and you'll even find tales of young men overcoming hardships to achieve their personal goal. One of our Canadian eAuthors taught a writing class at the school and offered to assemble the collection of stories into the following e book. We hope you enjoy Variations on the Theme of Cinderella. Any comments you may have can be addressed to Rita Y. Toews at r.toews@shaw.ca She will be pleased to pass along your comments to the students.
